The short version: your business records are stored on your own device. Syncing is optional. There is no analytics, no tracking and no advertising in this app, and we do not sell anything to anyone.
What the app stores
SalamKeys stores the records you enter — sales, invoices, inventory items, customers, vehicle details, expenses and settings — in a database on the device itself. This is the app's normal mode of operation and requires no account.
Syncing between devices
Syncing is optional and off until you turn it on. When enabled, your records are copied to a server so your other devices can see them. You choose which server: our hosted service, or a server you run yourself. If you self-host, your records never reach us at all.
Licensing information we hold
If you buy a licence, our licensing server stores the email address and company name you registered with, how many device seats you are entitled to, and for each active device an identifier and the label you gave it (for example "front counter"). We use this only to issue and check licences, and to let you see and release your own devices.
Camera and photos
The app asks for camera access so you can photograph an inventory item or a customer, and to scan pairing and setup QR codes. It asks for photo library access so you can pick an existing picture instead. Photos you attach are stored with your records and go wherever your records go. The app does not read your photo library otherwise.
Location
If you accept card payments, the payment provider's software requires the device location at the time of the transaction; this is a condition of card acceptance and is used for fraud prevention. SalamKeys does not collect, store or transmit your location for any purpose of its own, and does not track location in the background.
Card payments
Card payments are processed by Stripe or Square, depending on which you connect. Card numbers are handled by the payment provider's own software and are never stored by SalamKeys or sent to our servers. Your agreement with that provider, and their privacy policy, governs the payment data they hold.
What we do not do
- No analytics or usage-tracking SDKs.
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No third-party trackers of any kind.
- We do not sell, rent or share your data with data brokers.
Backups
You can export a backup file. That file contains your business records and is written wherever you choose to save it — it is yours to store and yours to protect. We receive no copy of it.
Keeping and deleting data
Records stay until you delete them. Deleting the app removes the data held on that device. If you use our hosted sync or licensing and want that data removed, contact us and we will delete it.
Children
SalamKeys is business software for locksmith shops. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
